Rising tech stocks overcame worse than expected jobs numbers to push the financial markets higher on Thursday.

The DOW was up 46 points, the NASDAQ climbed 118, and the S&P 500 gained 10.

In local stocks, Continental Resources, WPX Energy, Helmerich & Payne, and Chesapeake Energy all closed down on Thursday.
