Cici’s Pizza is donating a portion of the proceeds from their dine-in and carry-out sales to area schools to help teachers buy personal protective equipment they might need for their classrooms.
“We do fundraisers for them. We help the PTA’s out with their fundraisers through school carnivals, spirit nights, and a lot of that stuff isn’t going to happen this year. So, you have a loss of funds from that; but then you also have extra costs with all the PPE equipment and cleaning supplies that they’re going to need," said Leslie Breedlove.
Breedlove is the Director of Operations for the five Cici's Pizzas in the Tulsa area and she said they are donating a portion of their sales to help local schools.
“So, they can purchase PPE supplies for the school year. Also any hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies--anything that they have to purchase this year that they wouldn’t have had to in the past," said Breedlove.
She said Tuesday they raised more than $2,100 for Jenks Public Schools.
Wednesday they began raising money for Broken Arrow and Thursday's proceeds will go toward Union.
Next week, they'll focus on Bixby, Owasso, and Tulsa Public.
She said helping area schools is important to their staff.
"We’re parents of children in these school district. We have employees that are students in these school districts, we employee teenagers and high school kids and in supporting our community we’re supporting ourselves as well," said Breedlove.
Cici's is promoting physical distancing, so 75 percent of proceeds on to-go orders will go toward the fundraisers and 25 percent of all dine-in sales.
