Tulsa Public Schools is holding a special board meeting on Monday afternoon that will focus on COVID-19.
On the meeting agenda is a work session which includes discussion among board and TPS staff regarding COVID-19. Officials are expected to talk about instruction, safety and operations for the district during the pandemic.
The district is starting the school year off online and has not set a specific date to return to in-person learning. This meeting comes after the district announced they will begin posting a weekly total of their COVID-19 status on their website.
Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist said they need everyone to wear a mask and wash their hands so they can get schools re-opened.
Since this has been called as a special meeting, there will be no option for public comment.
The meeting will start at 4 p.m. and all attendees will tune in using video conference.
