Police Arrest Man Accused Of Injuring Officer After Chase

Ramona Police arrested a man who is accused of injuring an officer following a chase.

Police said Casey Ward led officers on a short pursuit and then refused to listen to officer’s commands. They said one of the officers tried to turn Ward’s truck off, which led to a struggle.

They said Ward put the truck in gear, dragging the officer about 40 feet and police said Ward also ran over the officer’s foot.

Police and Washington County Deputies eventually convinced Ward to surrender at his home. They also arrested a woman who they said came at officers with a large hatchet and had outstanding warrants. Police said they found meth in Ward’s truck.
