Washington County Man Accused Of Abusing 6-Week-Old Child

Washington County Deputies arrested a man suspected of abusing a six-week-old baby.

An affidavit says Blaine Joseph Adams told investigators the baby fell as he was bathing her and the baby hit the side of the tub. Doctors say the baby had swelling on her lips from a possible brain bleed. Adams says he didn't call 9-1-1 because he "freaked out" and the child wasn't "unresponsive for very long."

Doctors say the baby had other injuries that were signs of excessive force.
