Oklahoma State University has gotten $6.5 million from the EPA to help solve algae bloom problems.

The School said harmful algal blooms are a growing problem around the country, but their research could lead to a solution.

OSU is one of seven institutions that won funding from the EPA for this research.

One of the co-principal investigators at OSU said the team is working on a solution based on plant nutrients absorption that can be adapted for a variety of uses.
