Small business owners and employees will meet for the annual Tulsa Small Business Summit, however this year it will be a little bit different than usual.
The summit will be held virtually, and more than 300 people are expected to attend.
The summit will be a half day event featuring breakout sessions and keynote speakers.
An awards ceremony will cap off the event, highlighting those making a splash in the small business industry.
Weldon Bowman is the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Small Business Connection chairman and a small business owner.
He’s been attending the conference for years and said that it is a time for small business owners to come together and share new ideas.
Bowman said many small businesses have been impacted by COVID-19 and the breakout sessions will address the pandemic.
According to Bowman the summit is important because of the big role small businesses play in Tulsa’s economy.
“This is a time for us to educate ourselves with the breakout sessions,” said Bowman. “Hopefully everyone’s going to come out of this reenergized and that’s how I’ve felt every time I’ve attended.”
The conference will start at 8:30 Tuesday morning.
