Tulsa City Council will meet with two doctors to talk about the importance of masks for a specific group of people.

The discussion set to happen in Wednesday's Public Works Committee meeting and the focus will be masks for people under the age of 18.

At the bottom of Wednesday’s agenda for the meeting calls for a discussion with Doctors David Kendrick and George Monks. They are set to talk about the impact of COVID-19 for teens.

People under the age of 18 are currently an exception to the city’s mandatory mask mandate that stays in effect until at least November 30.

Last week Dr. Bruce Dart with the Tulsa health department said outbreaks are happening in schools and recommended the mask requirement extend to children 10 years and older.

The meeting for this discussion is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday and can be streamed online.
