OSU Student Laid To Rest After Fatal Bull Riding Incident

The Oklahoma State University student who died after a bull riding incident last week was laid to rest Wednesday.

20-year-old Rowdy Swanson died last Thursday in Mineral Wells, Texas at a PRCA-sanctioned event. Swanson was a junior at Oklahoma State studying animal science. He also worked at Deer Time Buffalo ranch in Perkins when not at school.

Swanson’s OSU Rodeo Teammates served as honorary pallbearers during his funeral. He was buried in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Swanson’s family is establishing a scholarship in his name as a tribute to Rowdy.
