Here’s six things to know before you set your alarm for Wednesday.
.MASK MANDATE VOTE: The Tulsa City Council will vote on lowering the mask mandate from 18 to 10 years old. There will be a meeting to talk about it at 2:30 p.m. and a vote is likely during the 5 p.m. meeting.
.BARR COMES TO OKLAHOMA: U.S. Attorney General William Barr will be in Tahlequah Wednesday to lead a roundtable with Cherokee Nation Leaders at 9:30 a.m. This comes after the historic Supreme Court McGirt Ruling that determined much of eastern Oklahoma falls under tribal jurisdiction.
.FIGHTING ANIMAL CRUELTY: There’s a virtual news conference about an investigation into animal being trafficked illegally for cockfighting tomorrow. At 1:30 p.m., an animal welfare group will also announce the launch of a statewide campaign.
.TRAFFIC ALERT: A heads up for possible slowdowns on your early morning commute Wednesday. Drivers can expect various lane closures and short-term ramp closures on Highway 169, north and southbound, between Memorial Drive and the I-244 junction.
.SOCCER SHOWDOWN: FC Tulsa’s playoff fate hangs in the balance as the team looks or the final spot in Group D with two home matches left, including the Black Gold Derby at OneOK field against OKC Energy FC tomorrow at 7 p.m.
.DAYS OF AWESOME: You can get your fair fix tomorrow! Five days of awesome kick off with the Ford Family Food Court and junior livestock shows at Expo Square. Tickets are $5 a person.
