City councilors will discuss whether to lower the mandatory mask age to 10-years-old on Wednesday. Currently the minimum age is 18.

Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said in a press conference last week that he wants the age to be lowered after evaluating recent COVID-19 data and trends.

The original mask mandate for the city of Tulsa was passed on July 15 and set to go through November 30th, however Bynum said due to the current trends of the COVID-19 in the city, an extension is something that will need to be discussed as well.

If the vote passes, anyone ages 10 and up would be required to wear a mask in all public spaces with some exemptions. Live in Tulsa Brooke Griffin Oklahoma’s Own news on 6.
