Man Spends Month Living On State Capitol Steps Protesting Injustice

An Oklahoma man has spent more than a month living on the steps of the state capitol protesting social injustice and said he’s learned a lot.

Jahaven Brandison said he’s disheartened because he arrived a month ago with hundreds of demonstrators and now, he’s alone.

“People were bored, they didn’t care,” Brandison said. “They were bored, and they wanted something to do.”

Brandison said he plans to stay at the capitol at least through the legislative session that ends next May. He believes that’s the only way to accomplish real change.
