Tulsa Public Schools leaders will update the board of education on safety plans Monday night, one week before some students go back into the classroom.

Pre-K and kindergarten students are set to head back to class in-person next Monday. Elementary students will go back to in-person learning the following week and TPS leaders say student safety is the top priority.

Monday night the board of education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. and the pandemic will be a topic of discussion.

TPS leaders are expected to update the board with the latest COVID-19 data in Tulsa, the state and nationwide. The agenda said the district will also go over plans for safety, operations and learning during the pandemic.

The board will meet virtually, but the public can watch the meeting in-person at the Education Service Center. TPS will project the meeting on a large screen.
