Driver Killed In Crash On Highway 169

Tulsa Police said a man is dead after crashing his truck into a traffic pole while driving southbound on Highway 169.

Police said the man hit a traffic pole, which caused his truck to spin out of control. They say the man was ejected from the window of the truck as a result of the crash.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died, according to Tulsa Police. They said speed appears to be the cause of the crash.

“Whether he overcorrected, he jerked the wheel, something caused him to get that truck sideways and slide at a high rate of speed into the pole,” said Lt. Darren Bristow, Tulsa Police.

Police said the crash happened around 11:00 on Sunday night. The name of the victim has not been released.
