Republican challenger Stephanie Bice has won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to unofficial election results.

Bice beat Democratic incumbent Kendra Horn for Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District in a hotly contested race.

All five congressional seats will be occupied by Republicans in 2021.

According to unofficial vote totals, Bice won 52% while Horn won 48% of the vote.

Bice thanked her supported and claimed her victory Tuesday night at a watch party as votes continued to be tallied.

“I am so proud to be elected to represent Oklahomans in the 5th Congressional District. Oklahoma Republicans have said they wanted to return this seat to red, and tonight they proved it," Bice said. "Oklahomans want a congresswoman who will stand up for our values, get our economy booming again, and work with our oil and gas industry, and that is just what I’ll do for them in Congress.”

A short time later, Horn conceded to Bice and said the fight will continue.

According to state polls, Horn and the former state senator were neck-and-neck in the run up to the Election Day.

The 5th Congressional District, which includes most of Oklahoma City, went blue in 2018 when Horn beat Republican incumbent Steve Russell. State Republicans have been active in their attempts to reclaim the seat.

Bice represented Senate District 22 and assumed office in November 2014. She beat Terry Neese in the Republican runoff for the nomination to compete for CD-5.
