Here’s a look at six things to know before you set your alarm for Friday.
.COMMUNITY & POLICE: Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum will host a youth forum for high school students on reasons for police stops, law enforcement perceptions, avoiding gang involvement, community policing and more. It’s through the mayor’s Police and Community Coalition and it’s all online Friday from 10 p.m. to 12 p.m.
.BELL RINGERS ARE BACK: The Salvation Army kicks off its Red Kettle Campaign Friday morning at Reasor’s in Brookside, hoping to rescue Christmas for families in need during this pandemic.
.DROP YOUR OLD TECH: You can get rid of electronics for free Friday in Bartlesville. The recycling event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sooner Park Splash Pad. Keep in mind that lightbulbs, items with freon like refrigerators and AC’s, and anything radioactive like smoke alarms won’t be accepted. There is a fee for TV’s and CRT monitors.
.FIRST FRIDAYS ARE BACK: The First Friday Art Crawl starts at 6 p.m. Friday in the Tulsa Arts District. It’s running in conjunction with Weekends on Main so you can check out local art galleries, shop and dine on Main Street under the lights.
.STARS UNDER THE STARS: You can watch a movie under the stars for free at Tulsa Expo Square. They’re playing “Shrek” to the first 250 vehicles and collecting drinks, snacks and hygiene items for the Boys and Girls club. The lot opens at 5:30 p.m.
.UNDER THE LIGHTS: Our News On 6 game of the week is Wagoner at Skiatook. We’ll have all the highlights in your Friday night Ford Sports Blitz as the regular season wraps up for high school football.
