Medical experts around the country say that patients are complaining of more frequent migraines and according to neurologists, the pandemic could be to blame.
Dr. Katherine Hamilton, a clinical neurologist at the University of Pennsylvania, said added stress of working or learning from home is a major part but it is not the only thing to blame.
"Also just changing routine," said Dr. Hamilton "the migraine brain likes things to be stable, regular. With the pandemic, things are thrown up in the air, like getting your regular sleep schedule, regular exercise."
According to Dr. Hamilton, added screen time can also be a factor. She recommends finding ways to manage stress, like practicing mindfulness and spending more time outdoors.
