Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Thursday.
1.SCHOOLS ON THE AGENDA: The State Board of Education meets Thursday morning to talk about Epic Charter Schools. Another topic on the agenda is Oologah-Talala Schools. The district is on probation after the state board said five teachers have faced sexual misconduct allegations involving students since 2016.
2.COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS: An effort to connect neighbors and law enforcement in Washington County starts Thursday. The community council holds its first meeting at 7 p.m. in Bartlesville to talk about their concerns. The public is invited.
3.WELCOME NEW TULSANS: The City of Tulsa will host two naturalization ceremonies at City Hall Thursday at 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Ten people from seven countries will naturalize at each ceremony.
4.NOT TAKING FLIGHT: Thursday was scheduled as the final day to see the DC-3 Wildkrat at the Tulsa Air & Space Museum, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the museum will be closed Thursday.
5.A DRINK FOR FREE: It’s firefighter appreciation day at Nothing’s Left Brewery in Tulsa. Firefighters can get a free beer, pint glass and Andolini’s pizza thanks to Country Financial. That’s from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
6.HIT THE LINKS: It’s the opening round of the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club Thursday. The Masters was postponed from April due to the pandemic.
