IRS Warns Of Text Message Scammers Posing As The Agency

The Internal Revenue Service is warning people of fraudulent text messages promising $1,200 stimulus checks and claiming to be from the agency.

According to the IRS people have reported receiving text messages that include a fraudulent link, impersonating the agency's website. It asks people to enter their personal financial account information.

The IRS warns that the text is a part of a phishing scam to steal financial and personal information.
