Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Wednesday.
1.ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: The Tulsa City Council meets Wednesday evening. On the agenda is approving the Peoria-Mohawk Project Plan. The business park is at 36th Street North and Peoria and is all about economic development in North Tulsa.
2.NEED A JOB? There is a job fair through Tulsa Public Schools on Wednesday. The Beyond High Schools Career and College Fair is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can register at this site here.
3.KEEPING THE ARTS THRIVING: Broken Arrow breaks ground on a new arts center at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The two-story center will feature classrooms, flex space, gallery space, indoor and outdoor event areas, with the goal of keeping arts thriving in the Rose District.
4.WONDERFUL WORLD OF DOGS: It’s virtual dog play Wednesday through Gathering Place. This month’s theme is the wonderful world of dogs. Send in a photo of your dog and their Disney Dog Doppelganger for a chance to win $100. AARP Oklahoma will donate to Route 66 Pet Rescue for every picture submitted.
5.DO GOOD, FEEL GOOD: You can help the downtown YMCA support the Tulsa Area United Way by registering for their 5K. You can run there or on your own time. Those who register get a free Evolt 360 Body composition scan Wednesday.
6.WHO WILL JOIN THE THUNDER? The 2020 NBA Draft is Wednesday. It’s virtual this year from the ESPN Studios in Bristol, Connecticut. The Timberwolves get the first pick.
