Tulsa City Councilors will meet on Wednesday morning to discuss the city's budget in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wednesday's discussion will involve millions of dollars, as councilors decide whether to put the money towards pandemic relief.
According to the meeting agenda, there will be an ordinance to amend the fiscal year budget to direct $4.7 million from the city's fund balance and put the money towards the pandemic relief recovery fund. The city's budget is more than $8.5 million lower than the previous year due to the impact of COVID-19.

The total budget for the 2020 to 2021 fiscal year is about $840 million, which includes all city funds, operations and capital funding from the city's "Improve Our Tulsa" tax plan.

In June, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said that he planned to use roughly $5.5 million from the city's rainy-day fund to help fill the hole in the budget, city councilors will decide on Wednesday whether or not to move forward with that plan.
Councilors are expected to meet virtually at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The meeting will be open to the public.
