Thanksgiving is only days away and the John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa will start handing out Thanksgiving food baskets to those in need on Monday.
Currently, the non-profit's goal is to hand out 5,000 turkeys this year, but they have yet to receive enough donations to meet their goal.
Non-profit officials said, at last check, they were a couple thousand turkeys short of their goal and part of the reason is that the number of people in need has changed dramatically since last year.
In addition to the 5,000 turkeys, the non-profit also needs non-perishable items donated such as stuffing instant potatoes, canned sweet potatoes and corn.
