Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter is urging Congress to pass an extension of the CARES Act.
The current deadline for officials to spend the COVID-19 relief money is Wednesday, December 30 and any unused money will go back to the federal government.
Hunter has joined 48 other attorneys general in making the plea, stating that extending the deadline will ensure the funds are used properly.
The plea is asking for funding to be extended until the end of 2021.
