A five-year program led by the Tulsa Regional Chamber called "Tulsa's Future," designed to grow Tulsa's economy by adding jobs and attracting new businesses, ends on Thursday.
Each phase of the program lasts 5 years.
At the end of the day on Thursday, the program will have finished phase three, each phase of the program lasted 5 years, meaning it has been an important part of developing Tulsa's economy for the last 15 years.
The pandemic had an impact on "Tulsa's Future" as many people either lost their jobs or had to be furloughed. And for that reason starting on January 1st the program will pivot to a one-year program called "Road to Recovery."
The primary focus during 2021 will be to retain as many jobs and workers as possible.
The Tulsa Regional Chamber will raise money throughout the year to support this program and the businesses impacted.
Since its creation "Tulsa's Future" has created about 69,000 jobs and generated nearly $4 billion in capital investment.
The next five-year phase of "Tulsa's Future" should launch in 2022.
