Executive Director For Tulsa Health Department Receives COVID-19 Vaccine

The Tulsa Health Department reports Executive Director Dr. Bruce Dart received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday.

The Tulsa Health Department reports Executive Director Dr. Bruce Dart received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday.

The health department says Dr. Dart registered on the Oklahoma Vaccine Portal and he received an email with a link to schedule an appointment since he met eligibility requirements of being in the current priority group in Phase 2.

"I'm really pleased because we know this vaccine is safe and effective. We know that COVID is a serious illness for many people and I don't want to get sick. So I encourage everyone to get this vaccine that we know is safe and effective," said Dr. Dart.

The Tulsa Health Department says according to the state's immunization system the Tulsa Health Department has administered more than 7,300 vaccines. THD also says as of January 13th more than 27,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered in Tulsa County.
