President Donald Trump's last full day in office is Tuesday, and he is expected to pardon up to 100 sentences before his send-off. However, there's no word if he plans to pardon himself ahead of his second upcoming impeachment trial.

We do know one recognizable Oklahoman is hoping his name is among those receiving a pardon: Joseph Maldonado-Passage, better known as Joe Exotic. He is hoping to receive a pardon after being sentenced to 22 years in prison for animal abuse charges and a murder-for-hire plot.

During President Trump's time in office, he has granted 70 pardons, not counting the ones he will likely give out Tuesday. The Justice Department says most of those pardons happened in December. The President waited until after the November election to issue some of his most controversial pardons, including former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and longtime ally Roger Stone.

When compared to the last four administrations, President Trump has issued the least number of pardons. By the time President Barack Obama left office, he had pardoned 212 people. President George W. Bush pardoned 189, while President Bill Clinton pardoned 396. However, unlike the previous three administrations, President Trump is the only one to not serve two consecutive terms in office.

It is important to note that a pardon wipes away a person's conviction while a commutation merely shortens or ends a person's sentence.
