The Healthier Oklahoma Coalition addressed COVID-19 infection rates and the spread of the virus in Oklahoma.
Members of the coalition said the number of positive tests in Oklahoma daily has steadily dropped over the past 10 days.
Dr. Ashley Weedn said the American Academy of Pediatrics still recommends school follow CDDC guidance for children returning to in-person classes.
“Contact tracing of positive cases and quarantining individuals who not only test positive but are exposed to COVID-19, even when they’re wearing masks per CDC guidance, is still recommended for schools to reduce the spread and keep our schools open,” Weedn said.
The coalition also said it started tracking flu testing rates, and the number of flu cases in Oklahoma has been consistently low.
