A man is in the Tulsa County jail Wednesday, accused of taking several agencies on a high-speed chase in a stolen truck, high on drugs and even crashing into vehicles.

Police said innocent people were hurt and several vehicles destroyed.

Police said Johnny O'Bryan slammed into a family of three. Two of them had to go to the hospital, and a family friend said their only vehicle is now ruined.

Police said O'Bryan refused to stop and took off Tuesday night, taking Tulsa police officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle for nearly an hour.

"Our suspect accelerated and began a pursuit which went straight eastbound," said Tulsa police officer Danny Bean.

The chase started in west Tulsa and went east on Highway 66 through Catoosa and Claremore, where Rogers County deputies took over the pursuit.

"The pursuit ended in Claremore when the suspect vehicle crashed into an innocent family at a high rate of speed," said Claremore Police Deputy Chief Steve Cox.

Cox said O'Bryan got out and tried to run but officers quickly arrested him.

A family friend of the victims said both adults are hospitalized with broken bones and their adult daughter is recovering. Now, they have no way to get to work, but Cox said it could have been much worse.

"It's only at the grace of God they didn't get killed," Cox said. "This was a horrific crash and innocent people almost got killed by a stolen car."

That stolen truck also flipped into two cars at a local dealership and destroyed them too. One woman said she was about to test drive the car this weekend, but now it's ruined.

Records show O'Bryan has felony convictions in Cherokee, Muskogee, Creek and Tulsa counties for a host of crimes. He was most recently released from prison a year ago.
