Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Thursday.
.MASS GRAVE UPDATES: Researchers from the investigation team will give updates on the next phase in the search for mass graves connected to the Tulsa Race Massacre. At least 12 coffins with human remains were discovered this summer. The public oversight committee will meet virtually at 5:30 p.m.
.IN-DEPTH INVESTIGATION: It’s been almost 100 years since the Race Massacre. We’ll take you inside the renewed search for answers with an in-depth report. Hear from the mayor and a state senator on News on 6.
.MAKE THE COUNT: An annual county of Tulsa’s homeless population starts Thursday. Shelters and housing programs will do what’s called a ‘point in time’ count. Then it’s boots on the ground over the weekend to count those not living in shelters. The data will determine federal funding.
.REMINDER: Union High School and the freshman academy are shifting to distance learning Thursday. The district hopes to get students back in the classroom on Monday, February 8.
.FILMS IN T-TOWN: The annual Sundance Film Festival starts Thursday. The celebration of independent movies is usually in Utah, but this year is online through February 3, featuring 72 films from 29 countries.
.BEER NIGHT AT THE BOK: It’s $1 beer night at the BOK as the Tulsa Oilers take on the Kansas City Mavericks at 7:05 p.m.
