Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Tuesday.
1.HONORING VICTIMS: There’s a fundraiser Tuesday for the two little girls and their mom who were brutally murdered in Sand Springs. That’s at RibCrib, where Staci Smith worked, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
2. COVID UPDATE: The State Department of Health will give an update on COVID-19. The Deputy Commissioner will talk about Oklahoma’s vaccine distribution progress, the online schedule portal and other topics.
3. ELECTION DAY: Voters in 49 counties will head to the polls Tuesday. Some of the primary elections include the race for Tulsa County treasurer, school bond issues, school board seats and city council seats.
4. IMPEACHMENT TRIAL STARTS: Presentations start Tuesday in the Senate in the impeachment trial of former president Donald Trump. This comes after the House of Representatives delivered one article of impeachment last month, accusing him of inciting an insurrection following the riot that unfolded at the Capitol.
5.WINTER WEATHER CONTINUES: The winter weather will continue Tuesday, so give yourself plenty of time to get out and about in the morning if you need to travel. Be sure to wake up with Six in the Morning as Alan Crone will have the latest on the forecast and dangerously cold temperatures.
6. PEPPERONI OR CHEESE? Something to warm you up – Tuesday is National Pizza Day. There will be all kinds of deals, but local restaurant Andolini’s is doing something different and donating a stack of pizzas to John 3:16 Mission.
