Cherokee Nation Closing Casinos In Effort To Conserve Power Amid Winter Storm

As part of the effort across Oklahoma to conserve energy amid the ongoing inclement weather, the Cherokee Nation announced temporary closings.

As part of the effort across Oklahoma to conserve energy amid the ongoing inclement weather, the Cherokee Nation announced temporary closings.

The Cherokee Nation said it will temporarily close all nine of its casino properties, along with other business, retail and cultural sites. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa will also be closed.

The nation said operations will be closed starting Monday at 5 p.m. and will plan to reopen casinos at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
