Tulsa firefighters on Tuesday responded to the scene of an apartment fire that broke out around 4:40 a.m. near Riverside and Southwest Boulevard.
According to officials, a resident was brushing their teeth when they heard a noise and saw an extension cord was producing sparks. The resident went to notify his neighbors of the danger before returning to their apartment to try and stop the fire with a blanket.
The resident who noticed the fire suffered burns to his shoulder and was transported to the hospital to receive treatment.
Officials said that no residents, aside from the impacted apartment unit, were displaced due to the fire.
