Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Friday.
.KEEP CONSERVING: It’s been the story all week and we still aren’t in the clear yet. Conserve electricity, gas and water.
.CASINOS OPEN: All nine Cherokee casinos that closed to help conserve electricity will be back open Friday at 1 p.m. That includes the Hard Rock.
.COVID UPDATE: OU’s Chief COVID officer will give his weekly update Friday at 12:30 p.m. He’ll share the latest data and answer questions in the news conference.
.TPS DEADLINE: Friday is the deadline for parents to let Tulsa Public Schools know if their child will do distance or in-person learning. Students return to the classroom next Tuesday.
.WINGS OF RESCUE: 138 shelter pets will be airlifted from Tulsa to homes in the Midwest. It’s part of Wings of Rescue’s ‘Love is in the Air’ Mission to save more than 500 at-risk shelter pets. The animals will get loaded onto the plane at 9 a.m. and takeoff is set for 10 a.m. Friday.
.CRAVING COOKIES? They’re back: Thin mints, tagalongs and all the favorites. Girl Scout Cookie Weekend kicks off Friday. You can use the cookie app finder to find a nearby cookie booth or hop on GrubHub to order.
