Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Tuesday.
1.OFF TO WASHINGTON: Governor Kevin Stitt heads to Washington DC to meet with Oklahoma’s congressional delegation. They’ll talk about the utility bill issues for Oklahomans after the historically cold temperatures last week.
2.GRAVE UPDATE: The city of Tulsa will give a virtual update about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Grave Investigation. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
3.BACK TO THE CLASSROOM: Students with special needs and 4th-6th graders at Tulsa Public Schools will return to in-person classes Tuesday for the first time since last March. Other students will return in-person Thursday.
4.VACCINE ROLLOUT: The Tulsa Health Department will start giving COVID-19 vaccines to the next priority group in Phase 2. That includes teachers and education staff, as well as Oklahomans age 16 and older with certain preexisting conditions.
5.NOW HIRING: McDonald’s restaurants in Green Country are hiring. Restaurants in the Tulsa area are looking for new employees from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the hiring event Tuesday through Thursday.
6.FOOD GIVEAWAY: Food on the Move is passing out free groceries Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. The organization will be at the OSU Tulsa campus in Parking Lot A.
