The fate of an accessory to murder suspect in the shooting death of a Tulsa police sergeant is in the hands of a jury.

Matthew Hall is charged with accessory to murder for allegedly picking up David Ware, the man accused of shooting Sgt. Craig Johnson and Ofc. Aurash Zarkeshan. Johnson later died as a result of the shooting.

Hall's attorney told a jury inside the Tulsa County Courthouse Wednesday that Hall is guilty and that the trial is all about choosing the right punishment.

The jury watched two interviews Matthew Hall gave to police. In the first one, he said he was home sleeping and did not drive Ware from the scene. In the second interview, however, he admitted that he picked up Ware and took him to his house.

Hall said Ware confessed to shooting both officers. Hall also told police he dumped Ware's gun near Haskell.

The jury also watched the dashcam video showing the shooting of Johnson and Zarkeshan.

One officer testified and said the video showed Hall drive David Ware away from the scene.

Hall's attorney reminded the jury that his client doesn't have a criminal history.

He also made a note to tell them that detectives would have never have found the gun if it was not for Hall's help.

He said that Hall wanted nothing to do with the shooting.

Both sides are expected to give closing arguments when the trial picks back up Thursday.
