A group of healthcare organizations are coming together to try and encourage people, who may be hesitant about getting the vaccine, to go ahead and do so.
This campaign is called "United for Good - Vax for Good" and their goal is educate the public about the vaccine's safety.
On Wednesday, the Oklahoma Alliance for Healthy Families, along with the state medical association, Chickasaw Nation and other medical groups announced the public service campaign.
The nonprofit raised money through the partnership, and both television and digital ads will start appearing this week.
The ads, which come in 15, 30 and 60 second versions, encourage Oklahomans to end the pandemic by getting vaccinated.
The programs executive director said since 2014, the number of Oklahoma families choosing not to vaccinate their children increased by 60 percent. While there are currently no COVID vaccines approved for children, she said this same mindset is scaring some adults from getting the vaccine.
"As adults we have a choice,” said Jacqueline McDaniel, the Executive Director of OAHF. “We can choose to listen to myths spread on social media or we can listen to doctors and scientists who have devoted their lives to saving ours. Our medical community is united on vaccines. They save lives."
The campaign will also be available in Spanish as well.
