A Wagoner father of four gets a new chance at life after a perfect stranger decided to see if she could be a match to donate a kidney.

The donor saw a News On 6 story in November and felt she was being called to help this family in need.

News On 6’s Kristen Weaver got to be there Tuesday as that donor met the man whose life she's going to save for the first time.

Micah Belyeu is father of four and husband to Reenita. He was diagnosed with kidney disease after a bad reaction to some pneumonia treatments. Doctors told him he might have five or ten years to live on dialysis, but all that could change if a living donor would give him a kidney.

"A perfect match can add up to 10 years of life," said Micah.

Jeannette Bowman saw the News On 6 story that aired on Thanksgiving and felt called to go get tested.

After that initial test, she was flown to New Orleans for more tests, and doctors told her she is a perfect match. The chances of that are 1 in 100,000.

Bowman called the family last month with the news, and on Tuesday, they got to meet face to face.

"It's so nice to finally meet you," Belyeu said.

"What really tug at my heart was he had four kids. I have three kids and a grandbaby," said Bowman.

"I can't imagine what these kids could go through not having you around," Bowman told Belyeu.

Belyeu said this means milestones, like seeing his daughter walk down the aisle, his kids graduate school, and a life without constant exhaustion and fear.

"Having the opportunity to keep living its overwhelming. It really is," said Belyeu.

His kids expressed their gratitude in a letter they wrote to Bowman for giving them more time with their dad.

"We would like to thank you for the most precious gift of all---time with our father," the kids told Bowman.

The surgery is scheduled for next month in New Orleans.

Bowman said this was all meant to be and encourages everyone to get tested to have the opportunity to be the person that changes someone else's life.

"I'm humbled I was a match to give him what he needs - his life back," Bowman said.

"It's unbelievable," Belyeu said. "It's hard to put into words how you feel."

The family still needs help with medical expenses, and you can donate through this Facebook page here.
