Veteran Salute: Oren Lee Peters

News On 6 is continuing to recognize veterans across Green Country who are making a difference in their communities.

Today, we are recognizing Oren Lee Peters.

Peters served in World War II; he's also been involved with the Boy Scouts for more than 70 years.

Last week Peters was awarded the Oklahoma Thunderbird Medal, which is the highest award presented to a civilian by the National Guard.

The ceremony just happened to fall on Peters' 100th birthday.
