Youth Basketball Center First Of Many New Developments Coming To 91st, Delaware

A youth basketball training center is set to become the first tenant of a new development happening near 91st Street and Delaware Avenue. What used to be a manufacturing building will soon be the home court for the "Oklahoma Playing with Purpose" basketball training facility.

Owner Shawn Williams works with youth from around the metro on their athletic skills and said the new space will offer just the right space for them.

Willians said the new gym will make it easier for their group so they don’t have to schedule around other arenas anymore.

“The more teams, the more kids, the more space you need so for us to have a place that we can call home and headquarter every day, we’re excited about it,” said Williams.

Contractor Josh McFarland with Red Dog Construction said the facility will be the first of other tenants coming to the location. Future plans for the site include retail, a restaurant and potentially a hotel.

More information on the other projects are expected to be announced at a later time.
