Employees and volunteers at a Claremore nonprofit and wildlife rehabilitation center made their passion for animals a year-round mission.

News On 6 went to visit Wild Heart Ranch just in time for Earth Day. They have about 100 hand-fed babies, their normal residents, and some injured birds they are caring for right now.

They are gearing up for June - their busiest month of the year right now. Most of work is completely volunteer.

Annette King Tucker started Wild Heart Ranch in 1996 at 27 years old. She said she has saved more than 70,000 animals now. She has volunteers who drive from towns as far as seven hours away just to be a part of the mission to help care for animals.

"There are very few places where you see such goodness in the world," said WHR volunteer Kerri Blessinger.
