New Medical Clinic Opens To Serve Western Tulsa, Eastern Creek Counties

The Oakhurst community now has a new medical clinic, which will also serve those who live in surrounding communities in western Tulsa and eastern Creek Counties.

Square One Compassion also opened an early learning center in the same building last year, but these are just two of the many services the nonprofit plans to offer.

Jerry Hausner has spent most of his life living in Creek County, between Sapulpa and Oakhurst. He said the area has changed a lot over the years.

"I mean this was the wide-open spaces, I remember when this school was built,” said Hausner.

The former Jane Addams School is the new home of Square One Compassion. The nonprofit opened an early learning center there last year and now they've just opened a new state of the art Primary Care Center.

Hausner said a medical center like this is much needed in the area. 

"They come in handy for a lot of people who might not be able to travel to downtown Tulsa or places like that,” said Hausner.

Square One Compassion is now offering primary care for all ages and all walks of life. They're even working to serve some of the kids in their early learning center down the hall.

“We looked on google maps and this area is very underserved, so we were really excited to open Square One Medical Center to serve the people of this community,” said Square One Compassion Founder, Matt Blair.

Square One Medical Center accepts various private insurances and also accepts Medicare and SoonerCare. They'll also come alongside families if they need help.

"I want people to know that when they come to Square One Medical, they're going to receive the very best care that they would get anywhere else,” said Blair.

Blair said their ultimate goal is to create a community hub where families can come for childcare, youth sports, medical needs, and much more, with the hope of bringing communities like Oakhurst back to life.

“It's very humbling to think that we are a part of something brand new in this area and we actually could be a part of making significant change in an area that desperately needs it,” said Blair.

Square One Medical Center is accepting new patients at this time. They say they aren’t accepting walk-ins right now, but you can usually get a same day appointment.
