The first day of practice rounds for the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship starts on Tuesday. There are not many onsite parking options for spectators, instead, attendees are encouraged to get dropped off.

Nearly 8,000 people are expected to be in attendance at Southern Hills this week. Unlike previous years, a shuttle service is currently not in the plans for those coming to watch.

Bryan Karns, Senior PGA Director, said the plans to eliminate the shuttle service were made earlier in the year when planning for safety around the COVID-19 pandemic. Parking passes are being sold in a very limited capacity, and other onsite spots are going to volunteers and Southern Hills members.

Karns is encouraging everyone else to get dropped off by someone or use a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. There is a designated drop-off location for both of these options on the south side of the course on Lewis and East 65th Place.

Organizers are hopeful this will not cause a headache and do have a backup plan in the works should it be necessary.

“We do have some contingencies in place if the crowds really come out and we need to sort of pull that lever to open up some additional offsite shuttles,” said Karns.
