The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled Tuesday in a 6-3 decision that privatized Medicaid is unconstitutional.
The court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, who argued the Oklahoma Health Care Authority overstepped its bounds by outsourcing the state’s Medicaid Program. That came after the passage of State Question 802.
Doctor Mary Clarke, president of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, said in a statement, “we are pleased with the Supreme Court’s ruling and we recognize the heart of this issue is much larger than managed care.”
