ODOT Offers First Look At I-44, Highway 75 Interchange With Virtual Open House

News On 6 is getting a first look at what the completed I-44/Highway 75 interchange will look like when construction is over, thanks to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s new virtual open house.

The changes that have been made, and the ones upcoming to that stretch of highway, are pretty major as you can already tell if you have driven through the area, but now Tulsans have the option to attend a virtual open house to see the full project.

The picture of the finished interchange includes flyovers and direct connections between the two highways, but this is not something that is going to happen overnight. ODOT said this is a five-phase project, and currently they are only in phase one, with the other phases not scheduled for construction and/or completion until 2028 or later.

Officials say their main goal is to get rid of most of the clover ramps and replace them with those easier-to-navigate flyovers and direct connections.

ODOT is currently holding a virtual open house for anyone to view at any time through June 30th. This is a “come as you please” open house, there are no scheduled speakers or meetings This open house shows in detail what the project will look like over the next eight years and gives a timeline of what phase is being done when.

The lane patterns have changed pretty dramatically on the southbound side of Highway 75 over the past couple days, so make sure to stay alert if you are coming through the area. ODOT said the lane patterns on both highways will change frequently over the next several years as they navigate their way through the project.
