The City of Owasso is asking for the public’s input on what they would like to see next for the Redbud District in downtown. Responses to the online survey will be considered when planning for the future.
Redbud Festival Park is one of the biggest highlights of the city’s attention to downtown Owasso. The city is looking to get feedback over the next month on what people living in Owasso like about the area and what could be improved.
City Planning Manager Karl Fricher said the input will be used when drawing up future plans for development. He said the surveys are helpful to learn what people in town want to see.
For example, Fricher said several people asked about more walking trails and that is now an action item for the city. Surveys about the downtown area have been offered since May and responses will be accepted until sometime in September.
“We want to make sure that the citizen's voices are being heard,” said Fricher. “The information we’re getting back in from the community will show up in one form or the other in terms of goals, action plans and the plan itself.”
Some of the early responses include requests for more nightlife attractions, restaurants and festivals. For more information on the city’s community development and to take the survey, Click Here.
