The new USA BMX Headquarters is moving from Arizona to the Greenwood District in Tulsa.

The multimillion-dollar facility has been in the works for several years. Construction managers said it’s about 70 percent done.

The facility at the former Evans Fintube site will also be home to the Hall of Fame Museum and the Hardesty Track Stadium, with an Olympic-caliber and Amateur track.

The USA BMX President Shane Fernandez said the stadium is the depth of two football fields and will be able to seat up to 2,000 people. Fernandez said the track will host local, regional, and national races along with other events, like Harley Davidson World Championships. He said the facility will also open 25 jobs.

The city expects events to bring in 100,000 visitors in the first five years generating around $11 million.

"I'm highly optimistic we're going to crush that based on what we're seeing with some of these new events as well,” Fernandez said.

It's a $23 million investment. More than half came from Vision Tulsa, a sales tax renewal package for several investments. The other funds came from the Hardesty Family Foundation, Tulsa Parking Authority and the City of Tulsa.

"Once we broke ground, the city of Tulsa has been so proactive. We're on time, we're on schedule, we're on budget,” Fernandez said.

Fernandez said it's set to open for races in January.

"The headquarters building is getting finalized, a lot of the finish, the details in the project. And then some of the final touches within the track area,” said Michael Feamster, President of the Southwest Region for Nahbolz Construction.

He said he's excited for the impact USA BMX will have on Tulsa and the Greenwood District.

"It's drawing a lot of folks nationally to eyes and attention of Tulsa, Oklahoma,” Feamster said.
