When a district title is up for grabs the game is amped up just a little more. Pryor and Collinsville square off Friday for our Tulsa Tech Game of the week.
The rain isn't going to slow down Pryor as they get set for a district title against Collinsville, even practicing here on their baseball field.
"You get to this point in the year and you are just trying to keep guys healthy and getting out on that sloppy grass field not something you want to do its awesome to have this facility its pretty unbelievable," said Pryor Head Coach Kenny Davis.
The facility was a part of a 90 million dollar bond that gave the school a new softball and baseball field. For wide receiver and centerfielder Bobby Belew, worlds collide as he takes to the diamond for football practice. The equipment may be different but the skillset is the same.
"I'm pretty elusive I get to where I'm supposed to be when I’m supposed to be there. Just being shifty going to the ball and moving your body to that position," said Pryor Wide Receiver Bobby Belew.
Belew has 48 catches for 833 yards and nine touchdowns on the year and says his relationship with his coach makes the difference.
"Anytime anything goes wrong I've had problems he told me anytime I need a place to crash, anything like that, I can go there. He has just been there for me and has been a good man."
"He has been a part of our success and my success here and one thing I've learned as head coach when you got good players your a pretty good coach," Davis said.
