Tulsa Police say officers had to stop two different drivers for going the wrong way on two separate highways early Friday morning. Investigators say nobody was injured as a result of the incidents and one person was arrested.
Police say they were first called about a wrong-way driver heading southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 75 around 2 a.m. on Friday morning. Officers used their helicopter to find the driver of a Jeep traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-244.
Investigators say they used stop sticks and were able to pop two of the tires, but the driver continued traveling in the wrong direction. Police say Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers arrived on scene and were able to get the car stopped.
They say the driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out. As investigators were working this scene, they received a call about another wrong-way driver near the Creek Turnpike.
Police say the driver of a different Jeep was eventually stopped near the 91st Street exit of Highway 169 while traveling in the wrong direction. A woman was arrested at the scene.
No additional information on either of the drivers has been released.
