Road Closures Start This Week For Route 66 Marathon

The Williams Route 66 Marathon is back this weekend, after going virtual last year, and there are several road closures drivers could run into.

Events for the marathon kickoff downtown this Friday, but the biggest impact for drivers will be Sunday for the half and full marathons.

Thousands of racers will start at 7th and Main Sunday morning and make their way through various Tulsa streets. A large part of the race takes place on Riverside Drive, but routes also include 15th street and even through the University of Tulsa campus.

Streets on the race route will close at different times as runners approach them, but folks should be aware while driving around on Sunday. The race path crosses Route 66 several times and ends at Guthrie Green right in front of News On 6.
