An Oklahoma State Senator has filed a bill calling for city police departments to stop using unmarked police vehicles for traffic enforcement.
Senate Bill 1109 also calls on city police to use markings that are in contrasting colors for maximum visibility to ensure people can identify police officers easily.
Senator Cody Rogers wrote the bill and says he wants to make sure police are using traffic enforcement to keep roads safe and not generate revenue.
Currently, the law says, if an officer in an unmarked car stops you, the officer must be wearing a full uniform.
